Composite Bonding: Fast Facts
Examination: the tooth is examined to establish if the damage does not require more restorative treatment like a crown. The features that make your teeth unique are noted by your dentist, who will build the tooth up with composite resins matching your tooth shade and shape.
Preparation: the tooth is prepared to receive the composite resins. These are bonded to the tooth gradually, using a bonding primer and a halogen light. The resins are then polished, leaving you with a result we know you will be in love with.
Composite resin is a material that closely mimics real tooth enamel and the way light passes through it. Once applied to your tooth, there will be no way of telling it isn’t genuine tooth enamel, giving you the freedom to relax when you’re smiling on a daily basis. Composite resin alters the shape and shade of individual teeth, making for a more balanced smile, aesthetics and tone.
In many cases, small gaps can be closed with composite bonding, and without the need for orthodontic appliances. During your examination, we can determine which option is the most viable for addressing widely spaced teeth.
