Dental Implants in Ickenham

Dental Implant treatment can be carried out for as little as £20 a month.

What are dental implants?

A dental implant is a titanium screw which is placed into the jawbone to replace the missing tooth/teeth.

Can implants always be used to replace missing teeth?

Dentist will arrange for a number of special tests to assess the quantity and quality of bone present to perform the surgery subject to patient’s medical status.

Do implants hurt?

Placing the implants requires a small operation. This is carried out under local anaesthetic. You will not feel any pain at the time, but you may feel some discomfort during the week following the surgery. This is usually due to normal healing process.

Can I have the new teeth straight away?

Yes, with the modern innovations it is quite possible to fit the teeth on a very same day over the implants subject primary stability of implant and other local/general and medical factors, which require meticulous treatment planning.

How long does treatment take?

It can take from 6-12 months from the start till the fitting of final restorations.

Are the teeth difficult to clean?

Cleaning around the implant retained restorations is not different from cleaning around natural teeth. However, dentist normally gives you demonstration and advice about oral hygiene maintenance.

Can I take the teeth out if they are fixed to implants?

Most artificial teeth attached to implants can only be placed and removed by the dentist. However, if you have complete dentures fixed to the implants by bars, then you'll be able to take them out for cleaning.

Where do I get this treatment?

All treatment is carried out here at the Denpure Dental care and Implant Center. Patient is given the full written treatment plant after all the preliminary investigations before any work is commenced.

Invisalign Invisible Braces in Ickenham

Invisalign Braces

Invisible braces which are very popular and are commonly known as: Invisalign. This is the treatment for any age group.

Invisalign is great way of aligning crowded and misaligned teeth with no metal showing during treatment. Oral hygiene maintenance is very easy because invisalign is removal appliance.

The invisalign comes as a series of aligners which slowly move and align the teeth in correct position. On average every 4-6weeks patient is given next aligner to correct teeth position and during every subsequent visit progress is checked.

Although invisalign is a great way of treating teeth misalignment but this may not be a feasible form of treatment for every case, therefore we strongly recommend to book consultation appointment with our orthodontist who can explain appropriate treatment options specific to patient’s malocclusion.

FREE Invisalign consultations and 0% Interest Free Finance available, call us today on 01895 678 889 or 01895 262 966 or make an enquiry via our form.

Tooth Coloured Braces

Tooth-coloured braces replace the conventional stainless steel bracket, they are more aesthetic and very much acceptable to patient. Brackets are very light weight and comfortable to patient. Although braces are white in colour but wire passing through them still remains stainless steel. This is second choice of adult patients now a days if they are not suitable case for Invisalign due to any reason.

Lingual Braces

Unlike conventional fixed braces, the lingual braces are fitted on the inner surface of teeth which makes them invisible. Their location is very beneficial for the health of tooth structure because lingual braces cause less decalcification and very effective.

Periodontics in Ickenham

Periodontal disease (gum disease) is a chronic infection caused by microorganisms causing destruction of the supporting tissues of the teeth and eventual tooth loss. This starts with inflammation and bleeding of the gums which is called gingivitis and if left untreated progresses to the underlying tissues and destroys the alveolar bone and periodontal ligaments (which connects the roots of the teeth with the bone) called periodontitis. Gingivitis is reversible by improving oral hygiene and scaling and polishing whereas periodontitis is irreversible. Periodontitis is the leading cause of adult tooth loss.

Dental plaque (biofilm) is one of the main factor which leads to periodontal disease. Plaque consists of bacteria in the intercellular matrix of salivary proteins and food particles.

If you have been diagnosed with periodontal disease and choose to leave untreated, loosening your teeth will be inevitable but if you receive an appropriate treatment and follow the regular oral hygiene maintenance regime suggested by professionals then the progress of the disease can be stopped.

Symptoms of Periodontal Disease

Bleeding gums, Bad breath, Gum recession, Gum Swelling, Gums change colour from pink to red, Teeth mobility, Teeth seem longer due to shrinkage of interdental gums, Gaps between teeth due to shrinking gums, Changed bite due to teeth mobility, Pus discharge from gums, Pain in acute phase, Sensitivity, Pain.

Treatment

  • Scaling and Polishing
  • Root Debridement (deep Clean) mostly under local anaesthetic. Local antimicrobial such as Dentomycin gel and perio chip are inserted in the periodontal pockets as per clinical need. This non-surgical form of periodontal treatment is normally very effective to bring the disease under control.
  • Periodontal splints are made in the surgery for the teeth mobility to nicely stabilise them to prolong their life.
  • Gum surgery- in severe cases which are not responding to conservative approach.

Prevention of Gum disease

  • Good control of plaque and tartar build up on teeth by maintaining good oral hygiene.
  • Regular visits to dentist and hygienist to diagnose and treat the problems at early stages.
  • Stop smoking to help healing of periodontal tissues.
  • Patient compliance is of paramount importance. For the desired outcome patients must follow preventive oral hygiene instructions given by dentist/hygienist.

At Denpure dental care and Implant Centre comprehensive gum and periodontal care is offered. Dr Mandeep Birah has particular interest in gum treatment and she provides all necessary care based on latest concepts.
